Upgraded to 283mm

Hello there people, bought a set of 206 gti180 calipers discs and pads the other week and just fitted them, make my old vtrs look like they came out of a kinder egg lol, but after bleeding as i have been told so many times there is a fair bit of play in the pedal although some good braking performance. im looking for a master cylinder to improve them further but cant seem to get one, does any one either have one or know where i can get one. which do i want is it the 23mm cylinder? will it make the brakes feel normal again in the pedal

its from a pug 406 non abs model. i think its 23.8mm, but i have one fitted to mine and it made the pedal firmer and traveled less. got mine off ebay for 35 notes new.

how much trouble was it to fit though theres a few lines connected a fair amount of fluid to go everywhere coming frm the resovoir

very easy to fit. before removal just disconnect one of the lines to a caliper and let drain. once its empty then unscrew each brake hose connected to the m/c. then undo the 2 retaining bolts that hold the m/c to the servo. make sure that you have some rags handy incase of any drippage. use the saxo resivior and original seals off the saxo m/c. then replace in reverse. top up the resivior and begin the bleeding process.

as said the 406 NON ABS model is what you want. i know that some people have also upgraded the servo aswell.

the braking will be at the top of the pedal and feel alot better. i have the 266mm setup and find that there is some pedal travel but its not that bad so am sticking with the standard MC

I'v got 266mm calipers with 23.8mm MC and it reduced the travel a lot !! Feels soo different first, but after a while it does feel better than on a 19mm MC.

Take it from upgrading to the 406 no abs MC you still keep your abs or not??

    Thanks

You need an ABS MC to keep the ABS, i have a 306 GTI 6 one.
