hey guys! right, i advertised on here for a VTS engine for my conversion and i got a message off a member on here .. gafvts

right this is the message i got

that would be fine if you defo wanted it mate.the price would be £600 as it has forge pistons in which cost £500 and has had head work done which cost £550,got all reciepts to prove it.itys a vts engine with around 30000 mileage,i bought the engine when i did my conversion, the engine is sound as a pound, could not fault it

i presume it comes with the box but waiting to find this out, it has approx 30,000 miles on it and is a MK1 engine.

Is this a good deal? and does anyone know of this member? as its alot of money to send over the internet and im very warry when it comes to internet buying!

any help or adivce etc would be great!!

Also gafvts, if you read thsi sorry dude lol just checking a few things out lol

If its a VTS engine with a set of pistons and headwork i think its a good buy . That itself could amount to roughly £1000.
If your unsure about internet shopping, collect the engine and give the seller cash when you get there.

It is a good price - just check receipts etc. + the condition of the engine, where it looks to have been stored, proof of mileage? etc.

Ideally you'd want to know what sort of pistons are fitted, and for how long/miles? - any other parts replaced while pistons fitted?

Just logical things. Then if you fit it, I'd look to replace cambelt, idler, waterpump + give it a good service - new oil, plugs, oil filter, fuel filter (depending on the condition of your one) flush your radiator + new engine through - give everything a clean up.

It's just easier to do the above whilst the engine is out sitting on a stand (presuming you'll be fiting the engine)
