Is it worth a Citroen service?

  1. #1
Hi, my car is coming up to 100,000 miles and is due a service. Wondered if it was worth taking it to citroen to have it done or whether any garage will provide the same service. I'd expect citroen dealers to know what they are doing but a quick search provides answers that say otherwise

What does everyone think to citroen servicing? What sort of prices do they carge for this service and are they actually any good

    All help appreciated

I can't imagine they'd do anything different than your local garage, except charge you more for the same thing... I wouldn't bother mate... Just get it done whereever you normally do

    just do it yourself.

I go to the local peugeot garage, pretty handy with citroen as they're virtually the same, without the crazy prices.

Or do it yourself, then go to the garage and ask nicely to borrow their stamper?

take it to a garage n ask they use a citroen bought service kit (instead of unipart kit thats cheaper but done to the same standard) then the garage will stamp ur book plus give u a invoice. Or buy ur own service kit and do it urself m8.

I used to work for citroen (TCC) and a intermiediate service on a saxo was 99-120 quid, large was 200...

basiclly they get the apprentice to do it in about 30mins... for a kit thats worth 15quid then at the end of the service, 1 of the techys take it out toast it up the nearest a road, then gives it to valet bay... because it looks clean and smells nice, you think its practiclly brand new! but not much has changed...

have a look for a citroen specialist be alot cheaper than citroen if your wanting a stamp, or just go to a normal garage they will be fine

normal garage, do the same thing

they had my car for five full days and cost me 553 quid, fuckin time and money wasters, do a better job if you do it yourself atleast you know what ur gettin.

why do you want a stamp?
its hardly likely to add any value to a 100,000 mile saxo anyway mate?

johnnyg has a point it will cost you more to get it serviced by citroen than the extra money ul get for havin the official stamp, as long as its been serviced its all good!

Cheers guys, is it possible to get hold of a citroen service kit for a diy service? Do you just pop in to a citroen garage and ask them?

Shitting myself about the gearbox... its got a leak, think it may be from one of the driveshafts. Are there any common leaks or seal issues with saxo boxes?
