pants start

   my vtr seems to be a bit crap to start lately.
   
   what could be causeing it?
   
   also sometimes it fires on only 3 cylinders till shes nice and warm.
   
   ideas?

   Could be coil pack or plugs/leads if its trying to start but not firing up and running on 3 til it gets warm.

   it turns over fine, but not instantly will take maybe 3-4 seconds then it will fire. doesnt start instantly
   
   its only done it 2/3 times, fireing on 3 cylinders

   Could be shite weather so check your electrics ie leads, coil pack etc and plugs, has been sitting around or do you use it everyday?
   
   Cant see it being battery if its firing on 3 but check all connections too.

   i know it aint battery.
   
   used everyday, ordered new plugs, cos mine are feck noes how old.
   
   got a new coilpack, but fitted it, and didnt work at all, are the coilpack different?

   Im sure theres only one type for your car mate, not sure why that aint working then, might be down to something else then causing it not to work.
   
   Try plugs like you said and see how it goes.
   
   Must something electrical like already stated or a vacuum leak maybe causing it to do this, ie off the inlet manifold or air filter, not sure tbh now, just guessing and giving some ideas lol

   guna re-fit the coilpack tomorow.
   
   and plugs should come friday.

   Lol cheers mate, yeah see how it goes with new plugs and then refit the coil pack, got be one of the two.

    check your earth leads bud!! i had same problem but it turned out to be me battery....
