    Hello, Saxo VTR W2000...

<my car failed its MOT on :-

    Service brake efficiency below requirements
Nearside rear brake recording little or no effort
Offside rear brake recording little or no effort

The pads and discs are fine, The hand brake is fine. I've just bled the rear lines and striped the callipers. Put everything back together and I'm still having the same problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks Clint

master cylinder? or does that only get used for front braking

By just bleeding the rear calipers your not completly clearing all of the air out. There could still be some in the actual brake lines, really you would benefit from bleeding all four corners at least that will clear any air out. N/S/F to O/S/F to O/S/R to N/S/R this way as said It will clear the whole brake system. Hope that helps Buddy!!

It could be that your rear brake bias spring valve has seized.

Try lubricating the spring and working it with your hand/a screw driver to free it off.

Also I thought you were suposed to bleed the brakes starting from the furthest away from the master cylinder so O/S/R, N/SR, O/S/F then N/S/F.

As you put the fluid in at the master cylinder it's best to start from the nearest caliper to it then as you move around the car in order I stated it will clear the brake lines, K NVY!
