oh no my saxo

   i need help i was racing this 1.2 clio 16v ande won but when i got home after my saxo was making a funny sound so i took i around the street and then i went bang it sounded splutery and it was back fireing all of the time i need to know what happened and how i could fix it help me please

   not too good on engine, but blown piston maybe

   it works better know i took the sparkplugs out and cleaned them but its still not running right there was a bit of watter around the plug soi thought that the head gasket had gone but it doesnt seem like it know

   coil pack or head gasket i would say. compression test would rule out the head gasket

   hm... test ur ht leads and coil pack with a multimeter
   
   also do as scott said and do a compression test
   
   normally 8/10 its the coilpack

   take your car for a 10min drive (if you can), then remove the oil cap and radiator cap and check for any white substance , if its there its you head gasket, water mixes with oil and turns white. a compression test is the best tho if you have the gear and time to do it.

   water and oil dont always mix if the headgasket is gone though.
   
   If the gasket goes between the cyclinders then the oil and water ways wont have any way of coming into contact. Compression tester for about 20 or take it to a local garage

    i had to tell every one that i beat the clio its the high light of my life lol i dont think its the head gasket but ill still check it just i case but the engine is sounding very rough now any i am getting worried

    sounds like the head gasket went on my vtr once had poor compression agross 2 cylinders cracked head gasket right it the middle had head skim and slightly thicker citreon gasket fitted along with inlet and outlet manifold gaskets replaced,also it might be worth getting the cam belt changed if its getting anywhere near the indicated time scale for one while the head is of?
