Problems....

Spent the weekend in Northampton and on my way back i started to hear a loud grinding noise, pulled over to have a look and there was lots of oil over my left front wheel so i think the CV boot has gone and either the driveshaft or wheel bearings is making the grinding noise but not to sure? Also i can hear a whistling noise when i accelerate aint got a clue what this is? and there is a far bit of oil over the engine!
any one got any ideas?

does sound like the cv joint to me, i had the same problem with mine a year or so ago. nothing major, a place like euro car parts should have a new one for £40 ish

my 1.1 does that grinding and whistling noise but there is no oil anywere on the car

i have just droped it off at the garage for them to have a look at it! i aint got a clue what the whistling noise is but i will let you know if i find out! as for the grinding it could be a few things like the driveshaft, wheel bearings etc but i dont no, will let you know when i find out what is up with mine!

The garage has just called me and my driveshaft has gone! new one should be coming tomorro! going to cost me £90. As for the other things they said they will fix this first then take it for a drive and see what else is wrong!
