Hiya I have a p reg saxo,got a new tyre from kwik fit and was told the cv joint had burst,they said they could sort for £55,called a local garage and he said you cant just replace cv joint ,that you have to replace whole drive shaft at a cost of £120,is this correct?? he said saxo's along with fords have to have the whole thing replaced.some advice would be great,thanks x

#2What so it has basically just splitt? So its just the seal, and all the CV grease has fallen out?
It happened to mine the other day if thats the case, sorted it myself for under a fiver, just fill the joint up with new grease and put a jubilee clip on it, i guess even a tie wrap would work.

#4Depends how much damage not having any grease inside the boot has done to the drive shaft... But its not a "MUST" like your Garage tells you, unless it has actually damaged the Driveshaft??....
