#1

#2piper or kent mate the 2 common ones.
-
#3make sure you have an enclosed filter full exhaust and manifold first. Also think about gaving it remapped or dastek at the same time or you wont see the best of the gains
-
#4not sure if they still exist, but there used to be a company, think it was called 'powerzone'(?), who did a complete uprated head, which had cams, was ported and polished and had bigger valves, for £670(roughly). they claimed it gave 170bhp for vts and 135bhp for vtr.
-
#5cheers lads i shall give it some thought!
-
#6hopey the main man. have a look at ABP motorsport, they have a special saxo catalog. and have loads of stuff in it thats fairly well priced, they have a choice of piper and kent cams but id go for the piper with a vernier pulley, filter like mine.

#7Scott hit the nail on the head
your car will be rapid -
#8nice one boz.
-
#9Hopey: remember i told you on sunday about the performance head and cam kit i wanted? thats the one that sean is on about, its from powerzone less than 700 squid.
-
#10if you look in one of the car magazines they are on the inside cover i think.well worth the money
-
#11the very sameQuote:Originally Posted by gafvtsif you look in one of the car magazines they are on the inside cover i think.well worth the money
also, i noticed that GMC sell a signal conditioner, which cures the erratic idle which is a side-effect of fitting hot cams. -
#12have just seen a fast road cam and an ultimate fast road cam by piper, it states the ultimate cam is not for use with standard injection! any deas why?
-
#13Needs more fuel I would've thought.. Basically means it will need ECU remapped.
-
#14think it means you'll need throttle bodies, coz it'll prob be a race cam.
-
#15normal fast road cam gives you 10bhp and ultimate gives you 14bhp. would be worth having a remapp to allow extra fuel in for 14bhp!
-
#16ultimate cam would give far more than 14 bhp, but it will need to rev to about 8/9 thousand and be on solid lifters, standalone etc...
-
#17basically a full blown race cam, not for road use. would prob tick over like a bag of hammers.
-
#18well dave sharps throttle bodied vts runs ridiculous cams even more wild thant pt53's and his idles practically perfectly apparently
-
#19so these ultimate cams are ok for road use aslong as the ecu has been re-mapped?
