Bleeding Brakes.....

What's the general procedure? I've never done it before.

I'll be doing it myself at a garage anyway but I wanna know how too do it first so I'm not asking the boys down there what to do every 5 minutes.

I'm wanting to put fresh fluid in too.

    Cheers

if your doing it on your own, buy yourself a bleeding kit, which uses the pressure in your tyres to pressure the system and force the air in it out.

work round each caliper in turn in a circle if you like until pure fluid exits each bleed nipple.

I always go round each caliper 2 or 3 times to ensure.

EDIt, obviously drain the old stuff out first

Be careful opening the bleed nipples on the rear calipers - they can become rusted in place and being quite small you can shear their tops off if you're not. Give em a good soaking with plus gas or similar the day before you plan on bleeding and again just before you start.

Oh and there's a sequence to follow moving from caliper to caliper - can't remember what it is, but it's in the Haynes if you've got it.
