Hey guys... ok first off i got the audi r8 light strips (ye..yee theyr crap and cheap looking and shit and all that ) but i like them... well..
I got them hooked up str8 from my battery... and on a switch going to the inside of my car so they turn on on their own switch and not witht he lights... but one problem.. when i turn the switch off the wires get really hot... but the switch works fine and all that.. theyr just getting really hot.. Tried putting fuses on the 2 wires connected to the battery.. but didnt have enough to fuse the switch.. What do u guys think?

First thing.. its very bad practice to run straight to the battery.. I would defo. not do this.

Run power from either switched live ignition.. (so you cant accidentally leave them on) or run from power to headlights, so they will only work with the headlights on.. also run an inline fuse on the power live, dont know what rate your led's are, probs run a 5amp fuse.

    Cheers

Um 1 last thing How do i actually get them to the ignition... A step by step guide would really be apreciated... Ive got the wires on a switch in the door.. and another wire going to the battery.. but obviously i dont want them on the battery.. so how do i go about getting them from the battery to the ignition? Thanx alot

Instead of sending one wire to the battery.. splice it into switched igntion live under the steering column.. make sure to do this properly.. soldered joint and insulated..
