What's the point of an oil 'catch tank'?

    What advantages do they give?

    Do they literally just 'catch' the oil that comes out the top of the rocker?

    Me no understand.

    they trap the oil vapours and condense them to form shitty oil in the tank.

    basically stops it recirculating into your engine.

    can also make it easier to see when your engine is breathing heavily, which will indicate blocked breather pipe
