Question for 106/saxo turbo owners

    I'm kinda toying with the idea of spending the next few months slowly building up a proper turbo 8v engine that will handle higher boost, and just have a few quick questions to ask anyone that has any experience of building turbocharged saxo's or 106's. After owning a starlet turbo for a short period, and learning a little about turbo setups i feel i have a rough idea as to what i'm looking at, so i'm not a complete noob to boost.

    I've done a good bit of reading up and came up with a shopping list you could say of parts i'd need, and just want some opionions on it, and tips, and possibly if i'd need anything else that i havn't included.

    The list so far;

    DP engineering manifold and downpipe, some description of turbo (garret t2), actuator and intercooler, low compression pistions, forged conrods, thicker headgasket, all new bearings, seals and gaskets, some form of sump with a return oil feed for the turbo, and then of course alloy pipes to connect everything together

    Obviously, once the engine itself is built up, i would need to sort engine management, oil cooling, good radiator and fan setup, injectors, upgraded fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and then the likes of a differential, better gear cogs, clutch and good brakes/suspension/tyres etc. (but we'll leave them aside for now as i really want info regarding an engine build)

    as i said i'm only playing with the idea, and it will be a very VERY slow process if i go ahead with it

    hope ye can offer some sound advice

    You dont need a thicker head gasket if your going low comp pistons as far as i know. people do this to avoid changing their pistons and decrease the compresion for less £££

    THe standard ecu wont be able to handle boost, so youd need a new one before the car started.
