body kit, saxo 1.1

  1. #1
i have a 1.1, going to save for a body kit, and i want 16 inch alloys.

would i need a VT kit, with wide arches, before fitting body kit, or could i fit body kit straight on with the wide arches for the 16s?

also any links/good places to order body kits for 1.1s wud be sweet, tbanks guys.

you can buy kits which are designed to go straight onto a 1.1,there are a few about. but i'm pretty sure you'll need arch work to get 16's on a base model. try cituning, they do a not bad kit for the base model.

could you define what arch work i would i need and how much it would cost. also would this need to be done before getting the body kit, or after?
  4. #4
you'd need the rear arches cut/trimmed, and i would imagine the front arches as well. this would need done before fitting the kit, but if you took the car to a bodyshop they should be able to do this. as for the price, i ain't got a clue mate, sorry!

ok, also would there be any point in putting 2 twin exausts on a 1.1, or is this

    A) pointless
    B) not possible

    totally up to you..

    1) do u think its pointless?
    2) Will fit on fine. (may need to remove spare wheel-like mine)
  7. #7
no, just i thought u might need a higer engine size for that ammount.
  8. #8
would powerflow do it? how much did urs cost
  9. #9
no, engine size is not a problem.
Yes definitely Powerflow would be a good option.
I've spend around the £500 mark on my full exhaust system and decat.
ext on my list is to do the manifold aswell.

if you want a nice kit for your base model saxo take a look at ESSEXRACING.CO.UK,they do a very nice 'jap-style'kit called the aggressor,or try POTN.COM they have a couple on there

if u just want a backbox with twin exhausts it'l cost no more than 250quid. got mine done at top gear, just a powerflow backbox with a tailpipe of my choice was 200quid. with option of centre exit for an extra 20quid. and twin for extra 50.

imo you should avoid 'jap-style' kits at all costs, unless of course you're planning on sticking on a 'motorsport' sunstrip and chrome tailpie trim stick to a subtle kit and slam it on 15's (or 16's). also with your 1.1, make sure you don't go mad with the size of tailpie,or it'll idle like a pig due to lack of back pressure with the small engine.
