vts help needed, blown piston?

   Hi
   Driving home from work today, I put my foot down when joining a dual carriageway and during accelerating my car seemed to lose all power! It now has a loud tapping noise from the engine and will hardly accelerate at all. I managed to get it home, it will also cut out after idling for 20 seconds or so. Any help much appreciated, gutted.

   i had the same prob and it was the head gasket. do a compression test and if 2 cylinders are down on compression the gasket has blown between cylinders.

   cheers will prob take it to mechanic tomorrow. How much did you pay for new head gasket?

   i done the gasket myself. if i was you get the idle wheel done aswell because i didnt. and with the new cam belt on it started whining so i had to change that aswell lol.

   Cheers lol. Just hope it is the head gasket then, cars only done 59K miles.
