saxo sports tuning big brakes

   hope someone can help, got the sst big brake conversion with 306 GTi6 discs, well now I need new discs and the 306 ones are gettin harder to find and more expensive so I thought, f$%* it, back to normal saxo size. what i need to know is, is there anyone familiar with these conversions that can tell me is it just a case of removing the extension bracket for the caliper or would it have been a whole new caliper mount in which case I'd need a new saxo one, anyone know what I'm talkin bout?!?

   have heard a lot of bad reports regarding this "conversion".
   
   best bet would be to get a whole std setup new if you can afford it, or in a scrappy to get you up and running again...dont fuck/take shortcuts with your brakes, specially the mounting of your calipers <img src= "smileys/happy.gif">

   Im still using SST caliper brackets, but I have replaced all of the bolts with extended ones..
   
   
   
   The 306 discs are available almost everywhere... you wouldnt need to replace with fancy discs if you want to keep costs down. Go for plain 306GTi discs, you should be able to pick a set up for about £35, new.
   
   
   
   If you do want to put them back to saxo spec, simply remove the brackets and fit saxo discs.. job done.

   I'd just heard a lot of stories about peoples brakes "falling apart" on the motorway and my brakes have now started to "judder" which I hope is just warped discs!
   
   So are the caliper brackets just extensions of the standard ones, if I take them off will the standard brackets still be there?

   was there a problem with the bolts supplied being too short, cause I've managed to find affordable 306 discs.
   
   Where did you get your bolts Simo?

   Bolts are available from most hardware type stores... the sst bolts did tend to be a bit thin, and washers were used as spacers. The spacers should really be blocks of steel, instead of say 5 or 6 washers.. <img src= "smileys/ponder.gif">
   
   
   
   If you take the extension brackets off, standard saxo discs will fit on no problem.

   dont worry, the judder ure gettin under braking is worn disc's - not the most confident of feelings is it!
   
   best get em replaced with the above suggestions mate <img src= "smileys/wink.gif">
