gearbox

i know alot of people say whack a 1.1 gearbox in and the jobs a goodin but have seen a few people saying they cant handle it. realisticaly can a 1.1 gearbox handle the power from a vtr. how long will it last for everyday driving not on the motorway.

i had one on my vtr for over a year an i had no probs

loads of people are fine with them, even simo used 2 or 3 now on his vts turbo, yes they didnt last that long (roughly over a year) but a few normal vts drivers have had no problem... then again alot of people have problems...

its all down to the condition etc etc... relistically try and get the same box and thats what its designed for

need the quicker acceleration the 1.1 box offers, will find a low milage one somewhere

it will be fine. why dont you get a vts box instead. the 1.1 box isnt short,

well vts box is £180 from silverlakes and 1.1 box is £80 and i though i saw that the 1.1 and vts box had the same ratios in lower gears. thought that was why everyone put them on vtrs

its the final drive that makes the difference

1.1 doesnt use sports ratios, has smaller diff etc...

they are not as good as people bang on about. FACT.
