ok over the next couple of months i'm gonna turn my saxo in to a track day car. which i wanna build i new engine for i'm just looking for a list of parts i will need and where to get them from and prices thanks

Depends how far you wanna go mate.

I mean, you can strip it down completely and go for something like..

    Low comp pistons's
    New rods
    Balanced Crank
    Balanced fly
    New valve springs
    Cam

But a rebuild of that level will cost around £800 (im starting mine next month)

Also whilst its a bare block etc, you may as well skim the block and the head and have a small amount taken off the face of the cylinders, then buy some oversized pistons to compensate for this.

How far did you want to take the rebuild? Also bare in mind after a complete rebuild, the engine will need 2k of "easy" low rev driving to wear it in, so you wont be able to track it straight away.

i would be aiming for 180bhp+ with tb's after the re build so parts will need to make that

180+ bhp speak to qep for parts. you wont be looking at much change from 5k for engine built on tbs mapped up etc...

and you DONT want low comp pistons on a decent NA engine

    Why not?

Surely its fairly obvious? you want high comp, the higher the compression, the bigger the bang, the more the power/torque

Thats to a degree, you can go too higher compression ratio as well

ps if you need engine refurb parts, gaskets, bearings, camblet kits etc give me a buzz

if you are asking that, then please do not advise people on engines until you have done some reading about them.

WRONG information is very dangerous and can be very costly if people follow it.

You only want to lower the compression if you are going to be boosting it (turbo or supercharger) as said above you want to raise the compression for a normally asprirated engine.

Oh sorry didnt read the NA part of what was said earlier, my mistake.
