Fuel gauge

   When i bought my VTS the fuel gauge wasn't working it just stayed in the same place but the fuel light was still working. Then after a couple of days it was totally fine and has been for bout 2weeks until yesterday when it stopped again. I guess its summin to do with the gauge as if the sensor weren't working the light wudnt come on. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

   most likely the sender at the tank is on its way out

   on mine the wires on the sender unit were really tight and caused the fuel gauge to read nil and the light would come on, i just slackened off the wires and its been fine ever since

   remove the plug for the pump/sender and bridge the 2 cables together with the car on ign. If the guage goes all the way to the top then its not the sender, if it only goes half way etc its the gauge.
