iv got a saxo 1.1 sx (R reg) and basically its crap lol, somethings going on where it never starts first time, it keeps cutting out when i brake and its making a weird noise (my car kinder sounds like a milk float lol), also its got no umph now and i can smell petrol. I just took it down to the garage and they put the engine diagnostic thing on it and it came back fine so they cleaned out the filters etc. however its come bk still the same, im aving real bad luck with my car- since feb iv had to have new brakes, new clutch, new linkage, 2 drive shafts hmm does it ever end

id say take it to citroen and see what they say.probably need a full service,oil,water,plugs,leads,etc,everything.

smell petrol? Sounds like u got a leak in your exhaust, place some clean dry cardboard or something similar under your car overnight to see if anything leaks onto it

hmmm something weird just happened again, i went to start my car and it wouldnt even try and turn over - so because im a tad fed up with it i went mad and whacked what i think was the alternator (thing with brushs in) and it started first time...whats going on with my car peops lol

if its not turnin over wen u start it,it could b the battery??get sum1 2 check if the cells inside the battery r ok!!!

Try the alternator or the belt driving the alternator! May not be charging correctly! As for the smell of fuel, can you locate where its coming from?

SOunds like you may have "whacked" the starter moter and free'd it! Next time your car fails to start, put it in second, take the handbrake off and rock the car forwards and backwards! Then see if it fires up after that!

the smell of fuel i dont no - i can smell it when im like pulling off in first, i havnt had a problem so much today - the revs are dropping but im jst about managing to keep them up - it still has no umph though i feel like sumfin is puling me back

£85 an hr stuff that for a laff - i think some people are right and its the manifold coz its blowing now and kinder spluttering- im broke at the mo but will put it in the garage soon </font>
