got a problem had a race with one of these coming off a roundabout was a good bit ahead of him bouted the whole way and car was strugling.he caught up with me.thought the car must have been faster than mine,checked its spec(0to60 11.2 seconds top speed 107mph).also gave a mate a shot of my car he has the same 98bhp vtr and he thinks his is faster with no modds.i have a viper,de-cat full system from powerflow.any suggestions what could be wrong.

does it have any flat spots? or does it feel like the power is being 'strangled'? maybe an ecu remap to go with the mods would help.

think it has flat spots do u mean when u try to accerlerate it takes a second for it to start pulling.sometimes runs fine other times it feels dead.

mine has a few flat spots! i have a breather valve on which is leaking so i need to sort it all out on saturday, going to give it a mini service i think!

read a post about changing cat with a straight pipe were the cat is in the manifold,i had that done buy powerflow and my engine managment light went on.could that have anything to do with it.cheers.

scott would excessive fuel use cause it to run slower? cos on the way home from fcs chris_vts kept pulling off from me in 5th gear in his standard vts also hopeys vtr was almost as quick as mine in 5th from 80 mph.

you think the fuel return line thingy (that i dont have one) has somethin to do with this?

excessive fuel use (injectors pumping in more fuel than usual) would cause bogging down due to uneven fuel-air ratio. this in turn would make the car slower,yes. don't think the fuel return would be an issue, coz it isn't associated with pumping fuel in, only returning it to the tank. do you have a remapped ecu dan?

i'd recommed a full diagnostic check first as a precaution, as loss of power could be caused many things.

sometimes my car feels really good and other times its not so good.

i'm the same with my vtr mate. sometimes it flies, other times i floor it and go nowhere. time for that vts lump i think

car has definite problems couldnt get away from a corsa sxi on the motorway.
