Strange Idling

  1. #1
Had my car for a few weeks now, it seems to have a very lumpy idle, it definately isnt on cams but it idle's similar

It also has cut out quite a few times, anybody shed any light?

Im guessing it could just be a faulty sensor?

question may be asked many times but I havn't found many posts that changing ICV actually makes much difference or fixing the problem.

Thats because sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't

We have found saxo's have an idle problem, some engines seem to idle ok, with no stalling, but a bit of lumpyness, others we seem to chace our tails trying to find why they occasionally stall, and idle like a bag of poo.

Also if you check over the air intake for any splits or the air filter might need replacing this can also cause lumpy idling, K Buddy!

because probably just like you will, you ask a question, people tell you stuff to change it,you change it and it works fine, are you gonna bother coming back here and saying thanks guys?you may now but you look at previouse probs not many people do,but you know its fixed otherwise they will still be posting lol.

its a common problem on saxos bud, just give it a clean as it might just be bad connections in the connecter.

Yeah that was my initial thoughts however its had a lot of parts changed before I had it to try and rectify the problem, my initial thought were the AFM.

I'l have a play around with the ICV but it really is quite strange, with it being the Raceland enclosed filter, sometimes they cause rough idling, so going to try an open air filter and see if that helps matters
