smoking rear lights

   hi there ive just brought some rear smoked led lights for my car.... they look pretty good, but i now want to smoke them.... how do i do this? alot of my friends hav had a go at doing it... and said they would do it for me... however when there lights are on... theyve done a really shabby job... how can i do this and make them look good??

   TBH their smoked already & to smoke them even further will give you problems with pc plod & possibly an MOT fail.So I would leave them as the lights are probably E-marked as legal for uk road use.

   i dont get it? you bought smoked lights, and ask how to smoke them?
   
   as said above do it if you want, but the police will pull you for them

   is there a maximum allowance for the darkness off the light then i take it.. and can i fail the mot then

   Yes and technically you are not allowed to smoke your lights as they are E-Marked for how their currently set up

   its like tinting front windows.. people do it.. but its not legal
   
   and i do bleive front window light allowance will be part of an mot soon!

   anyways answer to your question, give it like 1 or 2 light coats, then maybe a coat of laquer to make it a bit more shiny instead of the matted look when its just the tint spray used. good luck though becuase if you dont want to ruin your new smoked led lights

   just use some thinners to get the paint off when your mot comes up then just spray them again after it, it took me 5 mins from taking them off spraying them and putting them back on just leave them out in the sun on a hot day and they dry instantly.

    or just keep a standard set for mot time
