cat question?

   i have a mk2 vtr and woz wondering if get a new exhaust system including a new manifold would i be able to use a mk1 cat under the car as obviously the manifold will decat mine??
   
   just thought if i do decat it in the end it will be easier just to change the pipe.

   mate has run into problems attempting this as there is a lambda probe pre and aft cat which the mk1 vtr does not appear to have, someone mite no better!
   
   he's had major grief sourcing a reasonably priced manifold with decat
