Lambda sleeve

  1. #1
I'm thinking of using a couple metal ties to fix the sleeve onto the decat, but not sure if the wires would get to hot.

Anyone know how hot the lambda itself gets? might mount it to the bracket plate the wire fixes to.

the lambda and sleeve get quite hot, just make sure it's not near anything flamable and it'll be fine. reckon it'll rattle if you metal tie it to the exhaust.

need to get me a sleeve thanks for remindin me alex

Ive got mine fitted on the little bracket where the wires connect, if you know what i mean??

Yeh, thats where i'm thinking of fitting it, just wasn't sure if it would be ok as that bit is outside the heatshield.
  6. #6
Would have that it would be ok there tbh, cant get that hot surely!!!

Might just drill a hold into the heatshield, can use one of those screw clamps then.

Metal cable ties will be fine.

If i can use them on my manifold to secure the heat wrap they should be fine on
    the sleeve.

Drilled a couple hole big enough for a jubilee clamp into the bracket that hold the connector block, fits on nice and snug now.

im sure that the lambda sensor itself doesnt get hot on its own. it does when its in the exhaust as the gases make it hot.

someone please correct me if im wrong

Thats what i thought....heat from the exhaust heats the lambda!!

I've been told the lambda itself warms up to sniff the gases.

Mine's cable tied to the front of the gearbox as there is a hole there to loop the tie through. The sleeve i've got is quite thick so it musn't get hot enough to melt a cable tie.
