egay do some good deals on heatwrap.

get the nice and wide stuff easyer to overlap.

What's the heatwrap actually needed for?
  4. #4
reduces engine bay temps, also keeps heat inside manifold which increases with gas speed.

it's more about not losing power due to heatsoak than about gaining anything to be honest.

the graphite one that we sell is basically the same as the white stuff but with a coating that means you don't need any other treatment spray.

not sure tbh mate, does yours, its not on yet like

dont think it matters really mate, i put it that way so i have a little more clearence with the allen bolts being upwards

I've got mine facing the floor (when fitted to the car) and have had trouble with the bloody thing blowing at that 2-1 section on cold starts - sounds like a bag of hammers haha.

As soon as I get any torque on those bolts they round off. I've made up some ally spacers on the lathe which will let me use 13mm hex heads instead - that should let me tighten them right up and stop the blowing.

Don't think it makes any difference which way it is... if I turn it the other way I don't think I'll have any room to tighten those bolts as the left one is gonna be close to the sump (as you can see).
