#2you looked at the kits on ebay?
-
#4before you go off buying one could I recommend fitting decent oil temperature gauge..
not many saxo's have a problem with too hot oil. At least not in road trim -
#5why fit an oil cooler on the engine you have which is standard???
you wont overheat anyway -
#6just getting rough ideas mate so when i have chance the car can be booked in and tuned up work on the head, rebore and other shite dreams can happen
lol -
#7rebore to what? vt engines have narrow walls anyway you need to do alot of research as a few of your ideas have been unworkable on a tu engine.
-
#8could you assist me with that all i know is induction and exhaust basically the rest well ? i know you can do your cams but head work needs doing and a remap
-
#9you want big power then imo the 8v engine isnt the best of places to start.
alot of these little £100 mods to give big bhp are wank.... so stay well clear.
best of saving up and doing it properly, so get the head worked to work with the cam profile you choose aswell as the remap at the same time. Worth considering when choosing cam profile if you plan on going forced induction or throttle bodies, as they are tottally different cam profiles.
best way to make the car faster is get better suspension and brakes first. -
#10Cant really say it any better tbh...Quote:you want big power then imo the 8v engine isnt the best of places to start.

If you're serious about a street/track weapon then id look into getting a decent lump sorted and booking it in prepared to spend some money on it mate.
As said smaller mods are going to add up to peanuts if you spent a little bit here and there.
Get a complete new system, manifold-back.
Brakes and suspension sorted and then look into bigger things dude. -
#11am looking at some piper cams which are 270 degree `fast road` i know 8v is sluggish slow and horrible to try and moddify but as am only 18 the insurance would bend me over big style if i was to go for a vts anyway i have ordered a 421 manifold and a raceland forced induction kit earlier on today along with 2"x 50m exhaust wrap
-
#12id just do breathing mods on the 8v, get the chassis sorted with decent bushes, suspension and brakes.
then build a tasty 16v lump to drop in once insurance allows -
#14Find another lump to sell me along with those Compo's if you've still got them dude lol?Quote:id just do breathing mods on the 8v, get the chassis sorted with decent bushes, suspension and brakes.

If you build the S block on the side you can spend more money and time getting a nice conversion in place further down the line while just keeping the VTR fairly standard as a run-around.
TB's?

#15Just remember that modding a vtr will increase insurance too and you could end up paying the same or more than you would to insure a vts, depending on what mods you do.
