    how does this actually improve performance, what are the advantages of this..?

    Better air flow, better design. The standard Manifold is designed with budget, emmisions, noise, manufacturing costs, material availability etc in mind where as a 4-2-1 is pretty much an all out performance mod.

    Anyone know that rover K type engines come with a 4-2-1 as standard? Amazing.

    So do many engines, the toyota 3SGE for one.

    Plus in mk2's. the cat converter is in the mani. And decatting gives a relatively large improvement in performance as it is. Not to mention the better design of the 4-2-1 in comparison with the standard fanimold.

    the vts comes as standard with a 4-2-1 manifold
