backfiring and ticking over funny

   Hi all i have a 52 plate saxo vts and when it is sitting idle it ticks over funny plus sometimes usually from third down to second it backfires slightly can any one advise as to what the problem may be ????

   is the car totally standard mate try the idle control valve and the map sensor clean them up and see what happens

   The only thing i have done to it is a cat back magnex exhaust mate and it was like that before i put that on

   try cleaning the sensors up mate let me know how you get on
