Brembo Max?

Been looking at replacing my discs and pads all round and when i got a price from citroen there talking 85 for front discs and 50 for pads.

Ive seen Brembo Max discs for like 32 at GSF and wondered how people rated them? Been thinking about having the brembo max discs with Greenstuff pads?

Either that or there are some mintex discs and pads on ebay for like 110 quid for frunt and rears? what set-up is best without spending the earth?

Mintex have a good repuatation, i have their discs & pads on the front and back of mine at the moment, got both sets for about £70.

The Brembo Max discs will probably be good, but you'll struggle to find people who praise the GreenStuff pads on here.

Either way getting the replacements direct from Citroen will undoubtably be expensive. I went into my local dealers recently and picked up a leaflet for the Saxo which said "front brake discs and pads starting at £80"... no thanks!!

where you get the mintex front and rear for 70? were they new?

i don't know which model saxo you have, but:

    front:

    rear:

there are plenty of others on there... The second link i posted is the same seller i bought them off, and with them being in Manchester (only down the road from me) they were happy for me to collect them from their warehouse - which saved me £14.95 postage for each package.

Can get a GTI-6 setup and Mintex/Ferodo pads for cheaper than that dude...

Check eGay for the calipers and discs or local scrappy's.
Might be lucky and be able to grab a setup with Brembo's.

GSF's prices can be per disc! So you looking at £64 for a pair!

Still pretty cheap though imo. I think ill give the mintex ones a go, you can get front and rears for just over 60 so there worth a try

I have Greenstuff pads on my Z'd, they are actually ok..... untill you have done over 5k on them and they jst fade after abut 2 seconds of braking lol

Im going to be getting mintex discs and pads all round on the sax when i get it back soon tho

If you want good braking on a budget look at getting a more aggressive pad. They cope with higher temperatures, have more bite and will make even the standard disks work well.

Worth getting a decent brake fluid though too

Consider some sintered metal pads... we run them on all our cars and they cope with even kevs driving in his bimmer!

So for fast road use using the standard disc size and calipers whats best?

I've heard Mintex 1144 pads are v. good, do I just stick with blank discs or are grooved worth it?
