    Right

it gone like 4 times in the last few months. i thought it was lack of use at first but this week its been used alot as it was taken to the mod shop and back and for petrol and went for a drive in it

then 2day i started the car backed it down the drive to clean it all fine. abt 1/2 hrs l8r after i cleaned it i goes to start it and the battery is dead. now i did have my system on but its only 6x9 front speakers n head unit.

you think my battery is on the blink?

    fuk noes lol

only had the car in januray but it had just pasted a full MOT

to my knowledge, the battery is not physically tested in an MOT. And if it was , then it may only indicate a battery is 'low on voltage' and not wether it is nearly dead.
But until it is completely dead, the you wont really know.
Head down to Halfords or the like and get them to test it for you.

    alternator!

    alternator? whats that
  7. #7
the alternator is what charges the battery, it is driven off a belt that goes round the crank, as the engine turns it turns the belt, the belt turns the alternator (without getting into physics) that generates electic charge, this keeps the battery topped up.

Going on what you have said it sounds like the battery but most car garages will test both free of charge

try testing the alternator aswell. had the same problem on my golf mk1, and it was the alternator, not filling the battery enough

well i replaced the battery and the babes started right up so ill wait and see what happens. this shouldnt go but if it does its the alternator aint it and that expensive as fook
