Do exhausts usually get louder when they warm up?

Just wondering because fitted my new backbox today, and its quite loud at first, but after about 5mins, its suddenly gets even louder

    Question number 2.....

...do backboxes get louder or quieter over time from when they are new? Like when they get more worn in???

    Thanks

When backboxes start off you are better to wear them in for more precise nicer notes.

so when there worn in they will sound more crisp deeper and louder how the manufacturers wanted them to sound as for exhausts being louder when they are warmer i have no idea lol

When they warm up they usually popple more, so that makes them louder.

They are more likely to popple more when warm, as the unburnt fuel is at a higher temperature.

And you will also find that the longer your exhaust is on the car the louder it will get. Then after about 1-2 months it will sound its best when all coked up.

My little fiesta i had before my saxo, after a long journey if used to sound mint because the exhaust expanded, apart from the chain driven noise lol

They do get louder as they they get warm, the bore expands that's why and over time they'll get louder once settled in, mine took about 200 miles worth of driving before it bedded in, now sounds really nice Hope that helps!

My exhaust flames more when it isnt as warm. But when on a long steady drive at 2.5k max, then nail it, it wont 'bang' as much, but more popping is heard! Instead of a massive bang then a flame...

Backbox's arent enough for me! LOL.
