cam, compatability?

i recently got myself another vtr as most people ive dont the usual, lowered an induction kit, ice instal, all this done day after buyin it, i then went an hda the car superchipped?

now i want the car cammed, i wanted the piper285 cam, but i read sumwhere that im going to need the fueling changed, what im thinkin is will; this affect my chip an work against it, an am i better running say a 270degree cam instead where fueling doesnt have to be changed thus optimising an getting the best out of both,

help needed in a bit of a pickle?

shouldnt have got it superchipped, should have waited until you had done all the engine mods and then had the ecu re-mapped or a dastek unichip.

you will need a remap after the cam has been put in as it will help all mods work together better.

yep, bin the superchip and get a dastek, that way you can fine-tune the ecu map after every mod.

how much are they then, an will i lose the bhp, torque an smoothness that i hav all the way through the power range, i mean she goes bloody well, she absolutly demolishes vtrs at the mo, its fookin wild thing!

think about £500. well worth it and far better than a superchip. have a look here

no you will not lose any power or bhp, if anything id say you'll gain more.

have you had it on the rolling road?

no only had this new one about 3weeks
she quick tho compare to my old one an every other vtr ive put her against.

when she gets turbo'd at the end of the year i think me will be investing in one of them babies for sure, are they in car adjustment them, or does a dealer have to do it, then again a rolling road can do when setting the car up? am i right?

think you have to have it set up on a rolling road. and a dastek would be ideal for a turbo conversion, far better than a superchip.

yea i think i will invest in one of them at the end of the year, want carwork to do it, want at least 200bhp at the flywheel, which is why its being cammed up etc ported an polished ready for it in a few months like?

cant have certain cams with a turbo tho i dont think as my mates was going to buy a turbo for his vtr and he was going to or had to get rid of his cam.

didnt end uo gettimg it in the end tho.

i saw in a carworks car a piper 270cam so i might jus get one of them or a kent 266 which is the milder cam used on a turbo car they did
so ring them an find out then

good site this tho lads fair play, everyone seems to know there shit like?
