vtr turbo

Theres a turbo for sale on ebay for a mk2 vtr and I asked the seller if he had to get a stand alone ecu or remap and he said he didn't he just ran the turbo on low boast can any1 tell me if that sounds right.

and if you check it out does it look like it needs anything else to fit it apart from air pipes.

pony at best to run it without any other fuel mods like mf2, sig con or standalone.

    No downpipe in the pictures.
Looks like a chargecooler to me, unless the parts i'm seeing as hose connectors are brackets. Either way - looks tiny.
Only the dump valve T piece, not the dump valve.
No clear picture of where the manifold connects to the block to show its correct.

Also - without running some sort of management, whether its standalone or piggyback - the standard ECU would freak out at any sign of boost. And much more than standard power and the standard injectors wouldn't cope.

Ask the questions if your interested. Get full specs of it. What turbo. Is it new used or what. How old is it all. Get all the paperwork proving parts are what they say they are. He said its taken off his car so ask for photos of it fitted to the car and so on. I would be very suspect at best on this. I personally think its over priced as it is as you can get a stainless cituning manifold for a few hundred new and you can fully recon for not a lot these days even prices on new ones have fallen massively. Also some of the information given is simply wrong and that would also put me off it.

The MF2 just attaches to the 2bar map sensor and then you plug it up to a extra injector and it needs crank input. After you sorted all that you just use the screws on it to adjust the fuelling. very simple. You will want a good AFR and a nice long hill to map it with or take it to your local rolling road and let them do it for you. Most people add a SigCon 2 to stop the ECU spazzing out on half throttle under load.

it looks easy enough. im just gonna map it best i can then take it somewhere to get it done properly. see for the wire to the crank sensor. i need to connect it to the negative side of the sensor. don`t suppose you know what wire that is. ive got a green and pink iirc. cheers

edit - don`t suppose you also know ruff prices for mapping it up?
