What suspension kit for around £200?

Only test driven my saxo (mk2 vtr) and found that already it's rather bumpy and not that comfortable, it's currently on standard suspension and was going to just buy a pair of 50mm springs for the front and lower the torsion bar 50mm on the rear, however now having found the car is rather bumper i was wondering if a kit consisting 2 shocks,2 springs and 2 dampers would be advisable to both improve the looks and the ride?

I was considering buying this kit,

    Also i found a 55m gmax kit(not adjustable) for £170 brand new.

What do you guys think? Need help asap as the car is due to be lowered on thursday.

Rep given for help and some i-net loving

g-max is slagged by a lot of people on here but IMO theyre genuinely not bad as i have a set on mine. now granted that its daily road use etc and not for track i really cant see the point in spending excess money on setups that wont be used to their optimum.

£170 is a good price, there are spax which is apparently better but for similar cash but i dont believe theres anything wrong with g-max. the turn-in is sharper, less roll and absorbs bumps quite well so i would recommend.

i have the spax vsx kit i paid just over 2 ton for it and its really good piece of kit, i had g max on my pug and as kcsaxo said for everyday use there spot on.

Yeah i don't mind spending abit more for a more recommended kit, it's just i have no patience and the car is basically finished apart from lowering, need it done as i can't stand the car how it is atm, and won't drive it about until it's done

going that low will only make it a harsher ride, youre losing travel so the springs and dampers will have to be firmer so you dont bottom out. I can reccomend the Apex kit that kamracing sell, its 35mm or 50mm and actually quite good.

But the 50mm apex springs on normal shocks, not a good idea?
I'm getting the torsion bar done and i thought that the dampers would be a good idea just comply with the lowered bar.

there are quite a few mid range kits that will meet your budget.

Not sure I'd ever go for Gmax or spax as I've never been that impressed with the ride. but the Apex / Koni are good.
