Hey guys, im just wondering if these HT leads are any better than standard or r just a diferent colour, these are the best pics i have for now but they do have some form of white writing on them just cant remember what it says!!

If they are diff from standard what are the advantages of them if any??

    Cheers guys

they look like silicone leads which are usually thicker than standard and are made of better inner material such as copper or a better conducter and the silicone helps give better insulation which gives a stronger spark the next step would be to get a uprated coil fitted to give the best spark mate

Oh right, i meen when i get the car back i can have a better look at them and try and find a brand name on them.

How much is a better coil pack if you no, and err where is my coil pack lol im presuming its the square block where the leads attac to then go to the spark plug??

I really should learn a little more about my engine!

Unless you are running an extreme set-up, your current one should be fine!

so-called uprated HT leads give no stronger spark than standard leads, it's the coil which provides the spark not the leads. You don't need an uprated coil either, if it's not sparking properly then you need a new standard one along with new leads.

Oh no no its sparking PERFECTLY fine, was just wondering thats all, as i was searching for diferent HT leads last night, and uprated ones seem to be in the region of £50-£150 so there has to be some advantage behind them lol

jesus christ £150???? you'll see no benefits, save the cash for other more worthwhile engine modifications.

As Sean said. Standard coil is extremely good and the stock HT are more than adequate. My 170+ bhp 1360cc car never had a problem with stock coil and leads. I think just about every boost guy even the ones running over 300bhp are on stock coil as well. The saxo on SSC that ran a high 12 second quarter mile was on a stock coil for example.
