links too old and companies gone Wana change the car but cant find anything good to use. Big f2 metal arches in a 1.1 lol

I have a contact in france who supplies a lot of 'Maxi' parts so no doubt he can get hold of a proper citroen motorsport one. I need an airbox off him so I need to get in contact anyway.
    let me know..

If you would kam, btw i will have them apex shock of you in a couple of weeks hopefully just payed off my insurance didnt realise the shocks came to £210 though £170 .

Ive seen the kevlar body kit so unsure what would be more pricey....
  6. #6
Kam would i be right to assume your contact isthis company?

    http://www.fastcarspares.com/home.php?cat=256

Kevlar is a strong material, some science place said its really strong compared to steel so am i right in thinking the kevlar will be stronger and cheaper than the saxo sport kit.
  7. #7
kevlar isnt cheap by any means.

f2 arches on a saxo looks cool though, just a shame the rest of the car will be bodged around it.
  8. #8
I woud think you would need a wider track if you had a maxi kit on?
  9. #9
you would need widetrack if going to do it properly, hence why i mentioned bodged in my previous post.

I have read about the widetracking and from what i can gather... £1700 is the cost. Im guessing this is longe driveshafts, wishbones, steering rods etc which is defo $$$ atm. I need a proper job!

Could someone tell me whether 16" or 17" wheels would fit/look better?

    Cheers all.
  12. #12
its not the diameter of the wheels as such more the width and sitting in the arches.

widetrack will be more than that aswell
  13. #13
that link is a uk based company. My contacts a real life frenchman complete with onions

Nice one lads, movinjg the fuel filter and tank!! eeekk

Kam do you agree that the real ones willcost more than kevlar ones?
  16. #16
id say kevlar will be more, its a very expensive material to use and make stuff with, however with the rising cost of commoditities it may not be the case
  17. #17
depends really. Not sure if you can get steel arches anymore, those kevlar ones are certainly going to be the right shape rather than a poor copy.
  18. #18
Yea thas what i thought.... so if steel ones are around cheaper!!!
  19. #19
This might be way off but is a 306 rear beam not wider? and could be attached possibly, just a though...

I've thought bout this but unsure so if anyone knows... also with 306 wishbones fit the saxo?
  21. #21
neither will fit without significant modifications to the chassis
  22. #22
Did anything come of finding out the prices kam?
  23. #23
    Obv not...

Either way having a think £1070 is alot to spend on a saxo specially on carbon stuff when u want steel!!! What do we think of welding up some arches onto the standard wings? If you look in my first post that picture i was told its custom stuff so any idea how its done...
  24. #24
what are you actually hoping to achieve with your car mate? Prob the best thing you could do is tell us what your planning for then it will be easier to judge the pros cons.
  25. #25
I intend to strip the car out to just bare parts, fit a load of groupN/polybush mounts to ridgin the car up, either turbo the 1.1 or fit a modded 1.6vts lump in. The car will be used on the road but i want to do track days and have a car for country roads etc.

I mean i have to start somewhere and ideally i wanted the rally widearch look and then i would fit wheels. But looking at the cost of over 1K jus for a bodykit and then another £600 for spraying is a little excessive and then 16/17" wheels..

Basically want something different to other saxo's on the road and can shame some quicker cars

Flog your 1.1, buy a VTS.. then start from there..

2nd that - imo most flat arches look a bit pap when they are modified
  28. #28
stupid comments tbh, do you not think he has already thought about buying a VTS?

A guy on here, SNewham, Used to have a 1.1, and that was stripped to the max, think it had been cammed too, and that thing SHIFTED. The exhaust popped flames at 100mph on the M1 on way to southend, and it was dicking on my mates 1.4 polo all the way there.

If your looking for a quick car round the streets/bends, you will rarely get to speeds of excess 80/90mph before you have to slow down, so modding a smaller powered car isnt such a bad thing, just know your limits and be safe
  29. #29
I dont care bout the engine the moment just want the get all the handling and body work upto scratch.

You mate had a 1.1 cammed!! niceeee what sort of cam was it? Custom?
