As soon as i bought my saxo, i bought lexus lights and was well happy with them, but after a few months iv gone off them slightly... Luckily i kept the originals. i work at wilco motorspares so get discount on everything so could have a go myself at spray tinting originals. Is it worth having a go myself or should i steer clear? All opinions welcome!

#2for a start it was a poor choice to buy lexarse lights.. utter piles of shite tbh!
but yeah i think you can tint them youselfs.. just dont do it too dark, because the police wont be too happy!
just do a few light coats to avoid it getting too dark! -
#3Just get some Ultra Smoked Jewel ones. They're only around £60 from Ebay.
However, some companies advertise them as "Lexus" lights where infact they are the Ultra Smoked ones. -
#4haha yeah i know it was a mistake...Quote:for a start it was a poor choice to buy lexarse lights.. utter piles of shite tbh!

#7When tinting/smoking rear lights, do you spray the inside of the lense or outside?
-
#8looks a lot better without
im not sure, i dont think it matters uf you paint inside or outside -
#9ok cheers for the help mate
-
#10or colour code like me! light coats and the lights shine through fine.
-
#13lol i wasnt just talking about the lightsQuote:thanks for the honesty i get alot more positive comment rather than negative though and that picture does not do them justice
no offence to you..
just that spoiler, lights, oversized exhaust etc arent what id go for
they dont call it customising coz one person has an idea and everyone follows it though mate
do what you want
-
#14yer not a fan of my car myself anymore an theres nothing worse selling up soon though standard look black vts :-P
-
#16lights arnt that bad, but id take the spoiler off and make the back box sit propa! but just my oppinion,
you spray the out side of the lights! dont go too close and you will be fine, and if you do muck them up it says they can easily removed! -
#17thanks for your advise, i will bare that in mindQuote:lights arnt that bad, but id take the spoiler off and make the back box sit propa! but just my oppinion,

#18get some black lexus lights (with the clear lens) and spray them black with the tail light tinting spray. i'll upload some pics of mine when i'm at home (at work atm), looks quite good in my opinion.
-
#19do them lightly smoked look ssmarter.i over done mine as i got excited lol
-
#20smoke standards anyday over the lexarses, or just get your self some ultra smoked jewels tbh!!! would look lots better
-
#22Standards are much better than lexus. Mk1 standards are the best I reckon.
-
#23Buy mine...unique style I think!

-
#24

Light smoked... as in my previous post... dont get hassle from the old bill either... -
#25right now how do i attach a pic... NEWBIE!!!
-
#26mk1 standards ftw look best (1996-7 models), tinted as standard basically - btw ignore the heap of a car, pic's for illustrative purpose lol
-
#27you could smoke the lower half of the lexarses?
iirc someone on here done it and it looked wicked! -
#29if i smoke the standards, do i have to leave certain parts of them free so light can get through or do you spray the entire section?
-
#30Smoke whatever part of the lights you want. you can smoke the full light or half. as long as they are not to dark and the brake lights can easily be seen in sunny conditions then you should be fine=D if you already have a set of lexus lights and a set of standards then play around with one of the two and try and find a look YOU like,if you mess up just use some white spirits, should easily come off as long as you havnt put to many coats on=Di write a guide somewhere on how to properly DIY your lights...il have to find it

#31cheers for your advise mate, will post pics when done
