Heavy Clutch.....

  1. #1
Hey guys, Test drove a new saxo today (that i have put a deposit down on)

The clutch was VERY stiff, took alot of presure to push it down and keepin it on the bite point was a little hard as it was trying to push my foot back up lol

Is this a bad thing?? it drove ok, was jst very stiff.......

My old Saxo and my MG both have VERY light clutches and you dont even realise your pushing them down lol

    Any ideas guys??

It could hav had a new cluch put in? or it just might want adjusting

Well my friend who knows a little about cars said its not a bad thing and will just be the preasure plate.....

But damn it was canny stiff tbh, and i could see it taking me a while to get used to it!!!

Had a new clutch put in my ZR and it was lighter than what is was before!

So im just wondering why the clutch pedal was so stiff to push down, was a little hard to do it tbh!, no impossible but i would prefer it to be lighter lol

EDIT - For example i like my FAST gear changes, dont no if i could easily do them in this Saxo!

When i had a new clutch put in my vts it felt like a paddel clutch an i had the same problem so all i did was adjusted an it felt normal after that

    oookkk lol

Im not a confident person with doing stuff to my car, not at all!!

I would be abit worried me doing anything involving using a screw driver never mind somthing mechanical!

But i suppose you could tell me anyways and i MIGHT give ti a bash!

Do ya no where your clutch arm is? if you do there is a 10mm bolt an the end of it all you need to do the job is a 10mm spaner an a set of mole grips

Nope i dont have a clue mate lol

Honestly, i have a few friends with garages i woul djust be better off handing them a few beer tokens and gettin them to do it!

    Thaks anyways tho - Repped
