What bhp will i need to get anywhere under 15's as my mate has challenged me to go down santa pod againist his 2 litre corsa which does 15.2. Any ideas?
under 15 secs qtr mile

#1

#2weight out.
or you would need some descent tyres to start with and basic breathing mods and maybe cams depending on how well you can launch. -
#3well at the mo i have 708 cat cams, re-map, 4-2-1 ashley manifold and soon to have a supersprint race exhaust.
-
#4dont even need cams my mate got in the 14's without cams i got 15.4 without cams on my first go.
-
#5Just shed some weight and get some decent tyres. Im sure I saw on vroom vroom or fifth gear that they were quicker on quartermile with more pressure in tyres but dont quote me on that
-
#6I run a 15.1 at pod in my VTS with only an Magnex cat-back exhaust system. The only weight loss I did was the rear bench and spare wheel.
A 2l Corsa should do it quicker as well IMO. -
#7ANyone know any good tyres as i need 4 new ones any way
-
#8toyo r888. yoko a048 but these are expensive.
-
#9if you can drive and your running circa 150hp mymoney would be on you beating your mate though fella. His 2l had any performance work done?
-
#10Try an s1 Rallye gearbox perhaphs? lower topend but quicker to get there..
-
#11personaly if i was tryin id run lol you been up wigan cruise lately? been past a few times but didnt see u!
-
#12In Bulgaria i made 15.0 with 155km/h terminal speed. The biggest problem is that the track is uphill. On santapod it will give about 14.3-14.5. Spec is Newman cams ph2, air intake, race exhaust pipe no silencers and lightweight.
-
#13With that spec you should be sub 15 already.Quote:well at the mo i have 708 cat cams, re-map, 4-2-1 ashley manifold and soon to have a supersprint race exhaust.
Get out there and give it a go.
Could get a set of sticky 048R on the front only to give you extra grip off the line.. and if you want to do the quarter mile regularily worth getting a good clutch
I did a 16.029 in a 205 with 92bhp weighing 785kgs. Was going to push for mid 15s but sold the car to start a better project. -
#16Kam can you name any good clutch's?Quote:With that spec you should be sub 15 already.
