#3clean the outside of the rear lights then spray them with the proper light tinting spray then laquer them with one coat, if you put to much laquer on it will make them to dark so they will be ilegal, same gos for the indicators.

#4oryt, thanks for the advise m8

#5try doing it with a light behind. or do it spray holding it up to a window, that way you can see how dark you can go and how much light you can see and it wont be illegal
-
#6yeah good idea, im just wondering can you get m3 style? clear indacator and red brake section? that would look beta i think
-
#7if you can get hold of a spray gun tint the laquer with the desired colour paint them spray that. comes otu much better!
-
#8lol iv got the guns, im a sprayer by profession. im just curious, i thought you just had to arosol the inside of the lamp

#9Sorry to disagree but the legislation on this is very clear and simple. Modifying any E marked parts in any way negates the making and renders them illegal. In the case of lights even if you dont modify the light it self but obscuring or covering the light also renders it illegal. If you do such a thing leaves you open to criminal prosecution and also if you have a professional MOT tester will render your car as a fail on the test. You can however often get pre tinted lights that are fully approved and legal. This is generally the best way to go as there legal and often if there not cheap and nasty will last a lot longer and look a lot better than simply painting your original lights.

#10he rained on your parade lol, i see so many people with it done and im sure thousands of people on this site has them done, my brother even had it done and went through many mots and never got pulled for it, so im pretty sure you can escape an mot failure and prosecutuion for it as long as there not too black and can see light well through it

#11Tend to agree with you Rodzd126. I just thought the thread was getting a little misleading so figured it best to say something.

#13I had jus a simple out of the can jobby on my lights - they worked well and u could still lights coming through. but i was told at the MOT they were too dark n that i had covered the reflector and the E mark as AXracing said blah blah. But i didnt however have any trouble from the police they seemed to be fine with it. I guess it just depends what type of MOter you have, like Rodzd126 said many ppl have it. just depends on what lengths u wanna go with it.
