Steering feels light

The steering on my saxo feels light. It seems to understeer going round corners and feels vague. I thought it was me but my girlfriend noticed it as well. Took it to the garage last week for new front brake pads and asked him if he could find anything wrong with the steering, he said it might have been the brake binding. I dont think he looked properly,It still feel the same.
    Could the shocks be worn?

Kwik fit said they could check them, but they are bound to find something wrong with them!!! (dont they always) or could it be more serious?

    Thanks Jack

I let my brother use the car 3 or 4 weeks before i noticed this. Thought it was something he might have done ( he thrashes the f*#k out of cars, could be barking up the wrong tree and looking for someone to blame)
Anyway it doesn't feel right and i'm not a happy Saxo driver anymore.
Anybody with a good reason why this might be happening, let us know and cheer us up.

Sort of had a look. not too sure what to look for. Bit of a novice when it comes to cars. Thinking about it, after my brother borrowed the car it did look like it had been off road, it was covered in mud and chalk and smelt like a cow field. The tyres had a 3" ring of dried mud around them , and it was caked under the wheel arches. bet he's damaged something underneath.

I might just get it down the garage tomorrow, let them have a look.
Difficult to see with just a car jack. I wouldn't know where to start. Get them to git it a good looking at. If it could be something different than the shocks it's better than taking it to kwik fit.

I'll let you know if they find any probs.
    Thanks.

Give it a good jet wash underneath the car clean all the crap off, then take it to the garage.
