VTR to VTS TURBO CONVERSION?

   Hi ive been thinking about buying a vts turbo engine 2nd hand for my vtr and was wondering how much would a 2nd hand engine with the turbo already on it and everything u need for it to work and the garage labour would cost me. also if i do do this what things should i look out for when buying the engine? thanks, rep giveen for helpfull info

   To be honest mate, wouldn't buy one second hand with turbo already fitted,
   and engine work done. You dont know 100% who's done the work and whats been done, if i were you i'd try get your hands on a low milage vts lump and start from scratch with the engine build, that way you can still run round with your vtr

   hmm that why i was wanting a 2nd hand one cos i dont have the money for new, i could always reverse it if it gores wrong or not? aslong as i keep vtr engine?

   Be VERY careful getting a used boosted engine. The number of con men selling so called boosted engines or parts of out there are insane. If you are going used get paperwork of all the parts fitted and talk to the people who supplied and or fitted the parts. Also get a full list of the parts you are actually going to get as people have a nasty habit of missing out all the expensive little bits.

   So If i was to find this engine, could some1 give me a list of things that should be included at bare minimum? and how to check for them?
