loose/slack gearstick

Just bought my first saxo, clutch goes in ect fine but the gearstick doesnt seem accurate i.e v.hard to know what gear ur in if in any at all especially in the front gears i.e 1st, 3rd, 5th.

Having not worked on saxo's before does this sound like an actual gearbox problem or more likely to be the linkage etc that needs looking at?

More than likely linkage tbh pal, mine was the same, when in gear ytou could move it about an inch side to side etc, went into gear fine etc etc but was looe while in gear, if thats makes sense lol

More than likely just your linkages, if it drivers fine it wont be your gear box

    Aye most probably linkages.

You can get X Sport linkages off ebay that got good feedback on here, and you can tighten the foward/backward play with a Griffiths Engineering quckshift.

I really like the GE quickshift

Or try Group N Stainless linkages from Constella. I have them along with a Compbrake quickshift and GE quickshift and its tighter than a 10 year old.
