   do we have to put this on the insurance? i no you do with a weld/bolt in one,
   
   its just something that i been thinking of getting,so thought i would see what everyone else done first!

   Nah, depends on who your with, some will write it off as purely cosmetic for no cost others will charge you about £40 or something

   think a showcase will cost nothing extra with quinn.. make up something like it improves safety.. even though it will strangle you to death if you crash... not slating them as i am after one too

   If you crash with a show cage its more likely to cut your head off than save you

    Even a read cage is very dangerous in a road car. In a race car your in a snug seat and tightly strapped in with a 5 point FIA belt and even have a lid on your head. If you don’t have all this even a relatively small bump is likely to kill you. I my self hit a pot hole in the paddock at Silversone with out my helmet or belt on and banged my head on the cage, it made me physically sick and that was only walking pace. A show cage has all the disadvantages or a real cage with out any of the advantages. To answer your question though I don’t think HIC who I was with have ever charged me more for a cage.

    show cages are basically only for show lol but i have been toying with the idea of one so ill see how it goes.

    im with quinn they dont charge you any extra for cosmetic only performance.

    well you can allways buy cage wrap....
    
    The foam tubing that goes round your cage, sure its there for a reason, maybe so you dotn bang your head lol!

    Yea, like the stuff they wrap round the bottoms of scaffolding, most online shops that sell rol cages do the padding in various colours.
    
    Just out of curiosity, have you seen the OMP show cage?? its a little more pricy but IMHO looks 110% better than the chrome show cages, has the bar going diagnally from one side to the other, looks more like a real cage when still fixing like the chromo show cages do

    i should not see it being to much, if anything at all tbh, my old insurance was only concerned about performance mods, not cosmetic mods, jst give them a bell and see how it goes.... let us no aswell

    i added smooth boot, mirrors, alloys, lights, spoiler, front bumper, de locked, and few other things
    
    I asked them how much if i was to get it lowered and they said an extra £60 so dint declare that and didnt even bother about asking about my induction.
