you cant fit cv joints on there own. Has to be the whole driveshaft. £59 from most retailers.

ahhhh, *i know what im talking about* is that just for the driveshaft i take it, what about labour time? I just keep feeling that im getting ripped off by my local garage.

    more than likely!!!

always research the work you need doing before you go to garage so you dont get conned price wise!

when manic motors do mine they normally charge £59 for the shaft and labour on top. But its normally done at the same time as they have the suspension off etc

stand alone i would guess at 2 hours max labour

i had to do mine last MOT as the rubber gaiter started leaking on the drive down to the MOT station so failed. only took a couple of hours max! not the hardest thing to do yourself

got 1 for my 1.1 for 43 quid

easy to fit aswell so could save on labour

You can actually replace the cv boot but it is a ball ache as you have to strip down the inner boot first.

Better off getting a new shaft as mentioned above.

Steer clear of them cheap split cv boots as they wont last long.

Scrap yard would be your best bet if your trying to save a few bob.
