Is there any difference between a 1.4i crankshaft and a 1.6i 8v crank ?
Is This Possible ?

#21.6 is a longer stroke.

#3would this be possible
Bore my head to a 1600 , fit 1600 Pistons and run it on a 1400 crank ?
Thanks

#4you don't bore the head.
you bore out the block.
assuming you have the 1.4 alloy lump no you can't as it runs liners and would be more hassle than it's worth when you could use the 1.6 block. -
#5what i am wanting to do is put 1600 pistons in a 1400 block ie: 1400crank running 1600 pistons causing a higher revving engine ?
Thanks

#6I'm not competly sure if this will work,
but 1.4 xsi iron block bored out to fit 1.6 pistons.
only factor is deck height on pistons and weather they'll fit on 1.4 conrods.
but if your wanting revvy engine,
1.6 block, 1.1 crank and custom rods.
revvy 1.4ish

#7why not just put a 1600 vtr lump in with lightened and balanced bottom end, cam it with head work then re map it and raise rev limit
-
#8You may as well just stick a full 1.6 engine in. People bore out the iron 1.4 block to and use the short 1.3 crank to make a over square high reving race 1.4 not something you would do for a road car though.

#9XSI block with rallye crank = the dogs danglies!
revs and revs and revs until the valves bounce out on the bonnet and then you change gear very much like a jap car!
