Odd idle

   When I first turn my car own it idles funny, it drops to about 500 them pulsates up to about 1200 then after doin this a few times it levels out and goes to normal
   
   Also does this somtimes when I drive then stop

   MAP sensor on its way out?
   
   when you unplug a working MAP it should do what you describe above

   Could be idle valve thingy, common problem do a search its been coverd a fair bit

   change idle control valve and map sensor, common problem with spaxo's

   definately ignition related,
   
   spark plugs, map sensor (map pipe split, if there is one on the saxo)
   
   idle control valve (stepper motor)
   
   I'd do the cheap/free things first.. whip the idle control valve out, only two screws. and give it a wipe of as they get covered in crap. =]
