Head Gasket Change

   Does thermostat and water pump need to be changed at same time
   
   Head Gasket going not GONE yet car has 78k on clock

   I would do the thermostat because it's so cheap and easy. If you are planning on keeping it I'd do the water pump too as it's quite easy to do with it all appart and it is driven off the timing belt. Talking of which, I'd change the timing belt too, while it's off, if you hadn't planned to do so already.

   Definetly worth doing both.
   
   You wouldnt want to have to piss around bleeding the coolant twice.
