Shealth Shelf Help

   right ive build an extention to my parcel shelf using sum MDF. its kind like this under my standard parcel shelf

   when i put the LOUDNESS option on on my sony cd head unit i get a banging noise i think this is due to the sound hitting the parcel shelf plastic. what can i do to fix this?

   you have the 6x9s under the parcel shelf with no holes cut through?

   well aint the point of a stealth shelf to make the orignal shelf look the same
   
   the 6x9 are mounted on the MDF and that has the holes cut

   well yeah that is the point of the stealth shelf. But the point is in the
   proper stealth shelf that autoacoustics sell they dont use plastic they use
   material which is 100% audio transparent,

   I saw this guy with a perspex parcel shelf. It looked the bollox. I'm thinkin of doing the same. What do you guys think?
